I
Was There....Geneva, Switzerland
Sgt. Robert L. Kienietz MEGA #0001
USMC 1953-1959
The
world famous Jet d'Eau shoots water almost 400 feet high. Geneva is
also the 'birthplace' of the world wide web and the HTML we all use.
The water jet is located near a nuclear physics site known as CERN. |
A FEW SNAP SHOTS OF GENEVA AND SWITZERLAND

What more can I say.? I was a MARINE and did not NEED a coat!

I
fell in love with Geneva as soon as I stepped off the train. Geneva
is truly an international city where you will meet people from all over
the world. Yet it is a quaint historic town that feels like home at
once. My two years there are the fondest of my Marine Corps career. |
| |
As
is common in European cities, I found Geneva beautiful with the city
property decorated with flowers and well maintained. |
| |
This
was the start of a life long hobby, tropical fish, they have never been
far away. |
| |
There
are thousands of wild swans on Lake Geneva during the evenings and mornings.
Many of them would fly level with the 4th floor windows of the Consulate
and WHAT A SIGHT along the Rhone River going or returning from some
feeding place. Everyone buys bread and feeds the swans and the many
sea gulls that are in the lake area. |
